Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Switch Dimension collects through this website and our courses, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to meet the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR.

Switch Dimension is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions and requests go to info@switchdimension.com.

What we collect

  • Newsletter and waitlist signups. Your email address, and which list or waitlist you joined.
  • Contact form. Your name, email address, and the message you send.
  • Purchases. Your name, email address, billing details, and, for team purchases, your company name, VAT number, and the names and emails of the people on the license. Card details go straight to our payment provider. We never see or store full card numbers.
  • Course and community use. Your account details, course progress, and anything you post in the community or share in live sessions.
  • Website usage. Pages visited, buttons clicked, referring site, approximate location from your IP address, and device and browser type. This isn't linked to your name or email.

We don't ask for special category data, such as health or political views. Please don't send it to us.

Why we use it

  • To deliver what you bought. Course access, live sessions, certificates, invoices, and support. The legal basis is the contract with you or your employer.
  • To send the newsletter and waitlist updates. The legal basis is your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To reply to enquiries and handle team sales conversations. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
  • To understand and improve the website through analytics. The legal basis is our legitimate interest.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as keeping tax and accounting records.

We don't sell personal data, and we don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.

Teams and enterprise customers

When a company buys seats for its staff, the company shares the names and work emails of the people it enrols. We use these to give each person access and to report on seat usage to the company contact. We don't share an individual's course activity with their employer beyond what is needed to manage the license.

Cookies and analytics

This website doesn't set analytics or advertising cookies, so there is no cookie banner.

We use PostHog to measure how the site is used. It runs without cookies or local storage. Each visit is counted on its own and isn't followed across visits. Data is stored in PostHog's EU cloud and is routed through our own domain.

Our course platform and payment provider may set the cookies they need when you log in or check out. Their own policies cover those cookies.

Who we share data with

We use a small set of providers to run the site and the courses. Each one processes data on our instructions under a data processing agreement:

  • Kit for the newsletter and waitlists.
  • Resend to deliver contact form messages.
  • PostHog (EU) for analytics.
  • Vercel to host the website and to screen form submissions for automated spam.
  • Our course platform and payment provider to run course access, the community, and checkout.

We may also share data with professional advisers, or when the law requires it.

International transfers

Some of our providers are based in, or access data from, the United States. Where personal data leaves the EU or UK, we rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, plus any extra safeguards that are needed.

How long we keep it

  • Newsletter and waitlist data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Contact form messages are kept as long as the conversation is active, then deleted when no longer needed.
  • Purchase and invoice records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Course accounts are kept while your access is active. Ask us and we'll delete your account after it ends.
  • Analytics data is kept for a limited period set in each tool, and is used in aggregate.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to personal data is limited to the people who need it to run the business, and our providers are chosen in part for their security practices.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. You can also object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

To make a request, email info@switchdimension.com. We'll reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live or work. We'd appreciate the chance to fix it first.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes we'll tell customers by email. See also our terms of purchase.
